About Messonghi
Next to Messonghi it is the village of Moraitika and between them there is a river that separates the two villages. The region before becoming a tourist village was a typical fishing village. Even today there are small fishing boats of local people along the river.
Where to swim
The beach of Messonghi has all the conditions and combines the Corfiot landscape with turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea. The beach has crystal clear water and consists of small pebbles and sand. To the left of the beach the river ends, while on the right there is a green hill. The beach is well organized, has sun loungers and umbrellas, pedal boats for rent and water sports. Few meters from the coast there are taverns, souvenir shops and snack bars.

Characteristics of the region are the big hotels along the coast and apartments with swimming pool and bar. Also is given the possibility to the visitor to rent luxury villas with private pool, away from the center, with sea view.

In Messonghi there are all kinds of shops including supermarkets, souvenirs, tourist offices. In the evening the various bar offer to everyone unique cocktails with a lot of music and dance. Before the bars every visitor have the opportunity to taste the Corfiot and international cuisine in Bacchus Restaurant and Taverna Dionysos. Along the coast are many restaurants but also in the village. There are also many snack bars and fast food.
